The National Citizens' Party (NCP) has successfully concluded its month-long “July March to Build the Nation” program. To present the opinions and demands gathered from people across the country, and to announce its future course of action, the party has called for a grand rally at Dhaka’s Central Shaheed Minar on August 3. All party units have been instructed to coordinate with their respective supervisors and ensure a strong presence at the rally to make the event a resounding success.
This announcement was made through a press release signed by Mohammad Miraj Mia, NCP’s Secretary for Publicity and Publications, on Friday (August 1).
In the statement, the NCP said:
"The 'July March to Build the Nation' has been successfully completed. Throughout July, NCP leaders traveled to numerous towns, villages, and cities across Bangladesh, engaging directly with workers, farmers, day laborers, homemakers, and professionals from all walks of life. During these interactions, the party leadership pledged to amplify the voices of the people and to present a new vision for Bangladesh upon completing the march."
The release further mentioned that on August 3, 2024, NCP will return to the historic Shaheed Minar, where the One-Point Declaration was first announced. On that day, Nahid Islam, the spokesperson for the declaration, will address the nation once again, presenting NCP’s new commitments based on the voices and aspirations gathered from citizens during the march.
NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain has called upon party members and activists from all 64 districts to be present at Shaheed Minar on the day of the rally. District and upazila coordination committees have been directed to work closely with their regional supervisors to ensure effective organization and participation.
The press release further noted:
"August 3 will mark a historic milestone for Bangladesh. The NCP will present a new charter, reflecting the dreams and hopes of the nation’s people."
The NCP emphasized that the core focus of the upcoming program will be the voices of ordinary citizens, heard during the July March. Additionally, the party will unveil its action plan for the implementation of these nationwide demands during the grand rally.
